Elevated Basics

I love a good trend but my bank account can’t always support buying every seasons new ‘It’ pieces, which is why I love investing in basics. Sometimes basics can get a little..boring so I gravitate towards items that incorporate trendy elements, such as an asymmetric cut or some type of unique detail on an otherwise ‘plain’ item. Brands like Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang always add an elevated take on classic wardrobe staples. Instead of grabbing a tee and jeans invest in a pair with an asymmetric button to add interest to an otherwise plain look. I wouldn’t consider these items to ‘trendy’ just elevated basics that can be worn over and over and will never go out of style.
